Engaged employees are a critical component to organizational success, as they bring a higher level of commitment and contribution to their work. Although this linkage is becoming more widely acknowledged, many companies still struggle to deliver the employee experiences required to raise employee engagement levels. What’s getting in the way? Our research uncovered a common set of outdated beliefs about employee experience. This report explores how companies can overcome employee engagement stagnancy by making three shifts in their mindsets and actions: 1) From functional job execution to purpose-led empowerment; 2) From disinterested surveying to collaborative understanding and action; and 3) From HR-driven programs to employee-engaging leaders. The report shares over 20 examples of these three shifts in action and identifies program considerations across the XM Operating Framework.
