Languages in Qualtrics
About Languages in Qualtrics
Qualtrics is available in multiple languages. This support page has links to resources across the site on how you can select different languages in your Qualtrics account or projects. You will also find a list of the specific languages available to you.
Areas of the Product Where Language Can Be Set
As a user, you can navigate the Qualtrics platform, create dashboards and launch surveys in several languages. These are the areas of the product that are available in multiple languages. To learn more about how to enable these options or use these features, see the linked support pages.
In the next section, Language Availability, we’ll provide a list of the specific languages available in each part of the Qualtrics platform.
- Survey translation: These are languages you can launch your survey in. To add more languages to your survey, click on survey options and use the Survey Translation
Qtip: There are three ways you can make a survey available in multiple languages:
1) Qualtrics can help you translate your survey into any of the supported languages using our paid professional translation services. (See Language Availability.)
2) Your organization can provide the translated version of the survey and upload it right inside Qualtrics.
3) From right inside Qualtrics, you can automatically translate your survey using the free Google Translate API. Please note that, as with all machine-translated content, the translation obtained via the Google Translate API may not be fully correct or accurate.Qtip: For a list of the language codes we support, see the Translate Survey support page.
- Best practice methodology: Sets of questions prepared by teams of experts within Qualtrics that you can launch in multiple languages, and which follow best-practice methodology.
- Qualtrics account language: System-wide language available in all areas of the XM platform (from Admin, to Contacts, to Projects, to the homepage). This is the language you navigate your Qualtrics account in. See Account Settings for how to adjust this.
- CX / EX Dashboards: Languages that can be used in EX and CX Dashboards translations.
- 360 participant portal: Languages available in the 360 participant portal interface.
Qtip: For translating the 360 survey itself, see Translate Survey (360).
- Tickets: Languages available in the Tickets page.
- Text iQ: Some languages are supported by Text iQ functionality, such as topics, sentiment analysis, or recommended topics. You can find details on language and functionality on Text iQ Functionality.
- Translate comments: The option to translate comments is available in all Google Translate API-supported languages. This can help you read and understand text written by respondents in different languages.
Qtip: Open-text responses will always appear in the language in which they were submitted unless they are translated. This is true for all responses, even if the respondent submits a response in a language that isn’t supported by Qualtrics.
