About Stats iQ Templates
Templates allow you to save calculations, variables, and settings you’ve made in a workspace and reuse them in surveys all over your account. That way, if there are analyses you do in Stats iQ on a regular basis with similar formatting, you can apply templates to cut down on the amount of time you spend rebuilding these analyses.
Qtip: Templates are best applied to similar datasets. For example, you may reuse Stats iQ templates if you run the same customer satisfaction survey every year, or if you run the same employee onboarding survey every quarter.
Saving New Templates
Before you save a template, configure your workspace as desired for the template. Run analyses, configure variables, and customize your workspace as desired.
Click Settings.
Hover over Templates.
Click Save.
Name your template.
If desired, write a description of what the template contains / what it is for.
Click Save.
Qtip: You cannot save changes to templates. To replace a template, save a new template, and then delete the old template.
Applying Templates
Once saved, templates are accessible throughout all the surveys in your account.
Qtip: Applying a template will not override the workspaces you’ve created in your account. Instead, you will create a new workspace that matches the template you chose. These new workspaces will have “Template” in the name.
Open your workspace.
Click Settings.
Hover over Templates, then select Apply.
Select the template you’d like to use.
Click Apply.
To keep this template, click Done.
Qtip: To undo your changes, click Revert instead.
Qtip: If you attempt to apply a template and it fails, the Template Application Summary at the end will explain what variables were unmatched (e.g., didn’t meet the format of the template).
Reverting Changes to Templates
You may try out a number of templates you created in the past before you find one you want to use, or you may accidentally apply a new template over your old template you don’t actually want to use. Thankfully, there is a way to revert template changes.
Qtip: You cannot revert to default or undo manual edits made after applying a template. You can only undo the application of a template over another template.
Open your workspace.
Click Settings.
Hover over Templates, then click Revert.
Select the template change you want to revert.
Click Revert.
Deleting Templates
Attention: Once a template is deleted, it is irretrievable. You must be 100% sure you want to delete a template before you do so.
