About Creating a Dashboard in Qualtrics Social Connect
You can create a custom dashboard in Qualtrics Social Connect. These dashboards allow you to report on metrics related to your different topics.
Creating a Dashboard
- Navigate to the Dashboards section Insights.
- Click Create dashboard.
- Give your dashboard a name.
- Choose the template, which will be the basis of your dashboard:
- Empty: Start with a blank dashboard with default settings and no widgets.
- Copy one of your existing dashboards: Use an existing dashboard as a template, copying over the same settings and widgets.
- If you’re building your dashboard by copying a dashboard, choose the existing dashboard from the list.
- Choose the Default topics that are included in the report. You can select multiple topics.
- Choose the Folder to save the dashboard in.
- Click Add.
You can then customize your dashboard by adding widgets.
Adding Widgets
After creating your dashboard, you can customize it by adding widgets.
- Click either + Add widget or Click to add the first widgets to this dashboard.
- You can search for a specific widget using the fields at the top of the window.
From left to right, these fields include:- Search: Search for a specific widget by typing its title or description.
- Keyword: Select a keyword to find any widgets related to the keyword (e.g., “analytics” or “csat.”
- Service: Choose the social media service related to the widget (e.g., a Facebook page or Twitter account).
- Once you’ve found the widget you want to add, click it.
- Give your widget a title which will appear at the top of the widget in your dashboard.
- If desired, adjust the topics included in the widget. By default, the widget will contain the same topics as your dashboard.
- If desired, add a filter to the widget to filter the data. See Filtering in Social Connect for more information about building filters.
- Choose your date range and date grouping for the widget. By default, this will match the dashboard’s date range and date grouping setting.
- Select the position for the widget. You can either add the widget to the Top of dashboard or Bottom of dashboard.
- Click Add.
Qtip: Depending on your widget, you may have additional customization options available to you. Hover your mouse over the information icon next to a field to learn more about it.
Qtip: You can add a widget from an existing Insights report by clicking the menu in the top right corner of the report and selecting Add to dashboard.
Then, click on the widget(s) you want to add to your dashboard.
Then, click on the widget(s) you want to add to your dashboard.
Moving and Resizing Widgets
After a widget is added to your dashboard, you can resize it and rearrange it on the page as needed.
- If you hover your mouse over the top of the widget, your cursor will turn into a 4-way arrow. You can then click and drag to move the widget to a different spot on the page.
- If you hover your mouse over one of the widget’s borders, your cursor will turn into a 1-way arrow. You can then click and drag to resize the widget.
Widget Options
Click the menu in the top right corner of your widget to access the following widget options:
- Edit: Change the widget’s properties (title, topics, filter, etc).
- Refresh: Perform a dataset update and refresh the data displayed in the widget.
- Copy: Create a copy of the selected widget.
- Delete: Remove the selected widget from your dashboard.
- Export: Export your widget to various data formats. The available formats will depend on your selected widget and its data.
Dashboard Settings
Click the gear icon in the top left corner of your dashboard to access your dashboard settings. The following options are available:
- Edit dashboard: Allows you to edit aspects of your dashboard. This includes:
- Name: Your dashboard’s name.
- Topics: The topics that appear in the dashboard.
- Auto update: How often your dashboard’s data is refreshed. By default, this option is disabled.
- Folder: The folder the dashboard appears in.
- Report settings: Allows you to set up recurring dashboard export emails. See Setting Up Recurring Dashboard Exports for more information.
- Show page breaks: Inserts page breaks into your dashboard so you can see where the different pages are for multi-page exports.
