About GDPR Compliance in Qualtrics Social Connect
Qualtrics Social Connect is GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant and provides the capabilities for Qualtrics customers to be GDPR compliant too. This support page covers how you can manage personal data deletion requests in Qualtrics Social Connect.
While Qualtrics provides technology that enables our customers to be GDPR-compliant, Qualtrics customers should seek their own legal advice as to how to comply with GDPR.
Where Personal Data is Stored
When a customer’s mention is ingested into Qualtrics Social Connect, the mention often has personal data associated with it (such as the customer’s location). If a customer requests you delete their personal data, you must make sure that you’ve deleted it from everywhere the data is stored in Social Connect.
Personal data in Qualtrics Social Connect is stored in 2 places:
- The mention itself. See Deleting Mentions for more information on how to delete mentions.
- If the mention is associated with a contact, you’ll need to delete the contact. See Deleting Contact Details for more information.
Qtip: Publicly available information, such as the customer’s name and email address associated with their social handle, are not removed when you delete personal data.
Deleting Contact Details
You can permanently delete the contact details for a customer via any of the customer’s mentions in your Inbox.
Data Protection Laws and Regulations for Germany
To comply with Germany’s Data Protection Laws and Regulations, there are additional features that you can request be enabled for your account. To enable these features, please contact your Qualtrics Customer Success Representative.
When enabled, user statistics per individual user are hidden. The following platform areas are affected:
- Mentions:
- Response, resolve, and handle times will be hidden from mention details.
- The “Handled by” filter will not include single users or teams containing a single user.
- The “Actioned by” filter will not include single users or teams containing a single user.
- You cannot export the actions on mentions.
- Team Performance:
- All individual user performance pages will be hidden.
- The tables that break down actions by each user will be hidden.
- Only teams with 2 or more users will be shown.
- Team Performance widgets that call out individual users will be hidden.
