Why Qualtrics
‘Why Qualtrics?’ Lucas G. — Research Services Account Executive
What is your 'why'? Why do you do what you do?
My "why" stems from a passion for helping others, and empowering them to be their best self. In college, I took a vested interest in leadership, and its functionality within different social structures and contexts. This initiative drives my decision making and is a huge reason as to why I chose to work at Qualtrics. Qualtrics empowers both leaders and followers alike to accomplish things beyond what they thought was possible. The ramping support and attention to the grind from upper-level management inspire me to continue to work hard on some of my toughest days. We have a company-wide goal to provide value in every vertical within the experience management space, and that culture is shown both inside and outside the workplace. It's an exciting time to work here.
What is your favorite part of your role?
My favorite part about my job is the accelerated career path, as well as the responsibility to manage such interesting use cases and clients. As someone who longs to get into the driving seat of marketing initiatives, it's awesome how I get to experience that journey for someone else fresh out college. Having the responsibility to consult researchers and impact their KPI's and business goals is a really awesome job. I love explaining to clients the powerful combination of an intuitive yet complex tool, combined with world-class services to complete their market research ambitions.
You are not originally from Utah, can you tell us your story of moving here, etc?
I'm originally from Pittsburgh PA, so this was a jump for me. Luckily, I have a twin brother that encouraged me to move across the country with him, so having family here has been a blessing. The adjustment has been really smooth, as Utah has a ton to offer, including fantastic skiing, hiking, and proximity to breathtaking national parks and various west coasts hubs.
Any tips for someone who is considering an opportunity at Qualtrics?
My only tip would be to understand that you are in complete control of your career path. Working hard and balancing work/career development/ and a great social life will help you succeed long term. I would look for companies with cultures and visions that align with your moral compass and personality. Luckily, the Q has a great forward-thinking mentality, along with an inclusive culture where everyone can enjoy working here.
What is your top #LifeHack?
My top #LifeHack would be to always call your mother, as well as be your most authentic self.
