Why Qualtrics
Tanner, Technical Sourcer, on His People-Focused Career
I have always valued forming good relationships with others and being part of great teams. I enjoy being the hype man of the group and getting people excited about doing hard things. Early on in my interview process, I knew that Qualtrics was a company that would be compatible with my values. I could tell it was a place where I could work hard to help build, coach, and develop effective teams, as well as receive coaching of my own. I love being a part of my team here, and I have really enjoyed both ends of the mentorship relationship. I haven’t been at Qualtrics very long, but I’ve already been able to help train others and keep them motivated.
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
It was honestly the people I knew who had come to work here. They are some of my favorite people, so I knew that Qualtrics hires only the best. I was anxious to be a part of that.
What is your favorite part of your role?
I get to connect with a lot of people and, hopefully, play a small part in improving their life. It is really exciting to find a person a great place of employment (Qualtrics). It can play a huge role in their happiness and their family’s happiness! Even if it doesn't work out, I like interacting with a very diverse group of people each day.
Any tips for someone who is considering a role at Qualtrics?
Choosing between Qualtrics and other offers was a tough decision for me, but I have never regretted my decision. Like Shia LaBeouf once said, "Just do it!" It is an awesome place to be!
What surprised you most about working at Qualtrics?
The thing that has surprised me the most about working at Qualtrics is the consistent quality of the people I interact with every day -- in terms of technical skills, professionalism, moral character, and friendliness. Everyone that I work with is someone that could be a lifelong friend. Also, the bathrooms are super nice.
What are your aspirations in your career and life?
I want to be a successful husband and father and provide for my future family spiritually, emotionally, and financially. I also want to learn and grow professionally and contribute to my company and community with my work.
What is your top #LifeHack?
Make your bed every day. You start the day off with a small victory, and no matter how bad your day might have been, you have a well-made bed waiting for you when you get home.
