Grow

Hana, on the rewarding work of a Technical Account Manager

Change and growth have always been key themes in my life and a significant force behind where I choose to spend my time and efforts. There's so much to learn about ourselves and the world around us and each step we take to move out of our comfort zones is an opportunity to discover a whole new world within the universe that exists around us. Though it's frightening to step away from the things I know, every chance I've had to do so, I've come away with opportunities and learnings that forever changed who I was in the best way. At Qualtrics, I'm able to apply this mentality in my daily life – I am always learning new things, challenging myself to become an expert on tasks I've never done, and seeing change transform my own mind and the programs of the clients I work with. Being a Qualtrics TAM is fast-paced and it's the fruit of our efforts daily that feed satisfaction not only for ourselves but for our clients. It's hard work but incredibly rewarding!

What does your day look like?

I spend at least 30% of every day learning something new about the platform and brainstorming how I can enable my clients to use the feature in the most efficient way. Another 30% of my day consists of meetings with clients to touch base on current projects and tackle new ones. For the last portion of my day I'll make progress on different client tasks, whether that is putting together training and documentation on a part of the platform, troubleshooting an issue, or brainstorming ways to improve current program processes. The percentages differ daily :) I love the autonomy and freedom I have as a TAM. It's empowering to be able to delight my clients and drive impact from day one. I also love getting an opportunity to learn every day. I constantly find myself challenged, and it's rewarding work overcoming my limits to delight my clients.

If you are not originally from Washington D.C. can you tell us your story of moving there?

I'm not originally from Washington D.C. and moved here to work in the public sector consulting space. It was another decision driven by the desire to enter a new space in my career, push myself beyond my comfort zones, and try something new. It's never easy to pick up and leave your friends and community and move across the country, but I don't regret it and am thankful for the lessons it has taught me. Finding an amazing team at Qualtrics has been a huge part in making the city feel more like home. We do team events and explore the city together which makes living in the nation's capital all the more a richer experience.
