Why Qualtrics
Manny, Sales Onboarding & Ramping Trainer, dreaming big at Qualtrics
As the oldest sibling and first-generation college graduate, I feel a sense of responsibility to show my three younger sisters and one brother that they can dream big. Just like Mahatma Gandhi said, "A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes." No dream is too big and no career aspiration is too ambitious! Taking the leap of faith and joining Qualtrics was one of the best decisions of my life. Qualtrics has provided me with an opportunity to show my family and friends that dreams do come true!
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
The team culture, career growth, and the level of transparency!
What was the turning point where you knew you 'had to have the job' at Qualtrics?
When I visited Provo, Utah for my onsite tour. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be at work. Throughout my two visits to the office, everyone was super transparent with me. No matter the difficulty of the question - everyone answered them honestly. At that moment, I knew I had to join Qualtrics. It's so important for me to work in a space where there is a level of candor and transparency. That's the only way that we all continue to grow!
What does your day look like?
My typical day is very busy and fun! I spend a large majority of my time facilitating training classes on our product overview, internal ecosystem, and Experience Management during week 1 of Go-To-Market sellers onboarding. When I'm not in onboarding trainings, I'm working on ensuring that new hires have a seamless experience during their first 90 days at the Q. At a high level, this includes analyzing the feedback and data trends from our new hire classes. We truly do listen and believe in acting on that feedback!
What is your favorite part of your role?
The favorite part of my role is that I get to meet so many new people! Being new to a company can be both exciting and challenging for new hires. In an onboarding role at Qualtrics I have the opportunity to help so many new hires who are experiencing these same emotions. My goal is to ensure that they have all of the necessary training, resources, and tools needed to get ramped as quickly as possible.
Tell us about the move to Utah.
To be completely transparent, my move to Utah was challenging at first. I was moving away from all of my closest family and friends. I only knew two people in Utah. I packed my apartment within a matter of days, sold all of my furniture, shipped my car, and sent 8 boxes through FedEx. At first, it was so scary! I remember arriving at the airport and thinking to myself, "I miss my family and friends." However, I was so encouraged by how many people were willing to help! From offering to give me rides to work while I waited on my car to be shipped, to introducing me to so many people, recommending new places to explore, and making sure I had something to do every weekend.
After my first 90 days, things got so much better! I embraced the change, fell in love with the outdoors, and explored the state of Utah! Did I mention I went skiing for the first time and found an amazing cycling studio? Working at Qualtrics made this move so worth it! I get the opportunity to work alongside amazing people and I've also met so many people who've become my closest friends. There's never been a day since starting that I haven't been excited to come to work.
