Why Qualtrics
Big Dreams: Madison on Her Career as a Sales Development Representative
Before I accepted my position at Qualtrics, I would always get asked, “Madison, why are you moving away?" So today I thought I would share with you, “Why Qualtrics?”
For those of you that know me personally, you know that I am loyal to the same restaurants, the same friends, and every day miss the small town I grew up in.
During college, my goal was to find a company that would expose me to new experiences. That’s exactly what I found when I was introduced to Qualtrics in a marketing research class. I used the Qualtrics platform to collect customer insights. Quickly I understood the value in utilizing X-data to close gaps.
A couple of months later, I saw Qualtrics had a booth at a sales competition and my “fangirling” began.
Today, I am still fangirling because my career at Qualtrics has opened my eyes to new experiences & new people. I’m proud that I took the leap and joined the Q. I hope to be an example for anyone in my hometown or any other small town, that taking a risk and trying something new can lead you to your dream job.
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
I was attracted to Qualtrics because they are on such a great track. I had experience using Qualtrics in one of my marketing research classes and the capabilities of the software are next to none.
What was the turning point where you 'had to have the job'?
I realized that Qualtrics was the place for me after I had my on-site visit. Everyone was so welcoming and happy to be at work! I am a big believer in "If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life," and Qualtrics definitely hires people that have that type of passion for their work.
What is your favorite part of your role?
My favorite part of my role as an SDR is getting to be the initial person to represent Qualtrics on the phones. I love learning about other company's goals and learning how Qualtrics can help them achieve those goals.
Can you tell us your story of moving to Utah?
I made the 24-hour drive from Ohio to Utah at the end of January 2020. I was pretty nervous moving across the country and not knowing a single soul! After my first couple of days at Qualtrics, I met people that were in the same boat as me and quickly became friends.
Qualtrics is growing, and if you're ready to find your "why" at a place like this, you can explore our open opportunities at any time by visiting our career page or by joining our talent community.
Madison is an alumnus of the University of Cincinnati and started her career here at Qualtrics. One fun fact about me is that I grew up with giant pumpkins in my backyard. I am talking 1,000 pound pumpkins. |
