Daniel, Sales Development Representative, on creating meaning and memories
I truly believe that everything in life is going to be meaningful at some point. In my case, I always loved creating ever-lasting memories and experiences with the people around me. Whether it be family, friends, my lovely team-mates or customers - once you experience something together, it grows you personally and certainly as a group. Well obviously, here at Qualtrics we are at the very center of positive experiences. From the first time I got in touch with people from this company, it just felt right that I can eventually, even on a professional level, contribute to letting great experiences happen while simultaneously working within an outstanding team and community. Qualtrics, therefore, is the perfect place to unfold my personal potential.
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
After finishing my studies at the University of Regensburg and having spent almost one year abroad in Krakow, Poland, as a part of my Erasmus program, I was sure that I wanted to have that kind of dynamic, multi-cultural environment within my professional career. Having a background in Business Information Systems, the tech industry was therefore definitely more than appealing to me. In the middle of my research, I finally got to know Qualtrics and from then on, I knew that I wanted my footprints in that company. I definitely liked the company story: a business that started in the basement - I guess, that's the place where tech magic happens. But unlike others, we’ve been able to retain that sort of start-up vibe even as we grew. It is just incredible to be working for a company where we are backed by an incredible product and even more incredible people.
What was the turning point where you knew you "had to have the job" at Qualtrics?
Apart from the "hard facts" that I gathered about Qualtrics, what really made the difference were the people. Qualtrics is a people business and you can truly feel that. From the very first contact, I felt like the people here are genuinely interested in you as a person. Anybody at any time gives you a hand, in case you need help, and "how are you" is more than just a phrase that usually comes at the beginning of a conversation. Additionally, I have not seen a similar enthusiasm towards goals anywhere else. It feels like, as a team, the sky's the only limit for us.
What has surprised you most about working at Qualtrics?
I was more than surprised by how well the virtual onboarding was conducted. You literally never felt like you were on your own. Furthermore, I have never been in an environment where people proactively offer help and support. Apart from that, it is just amazing to see what a huge impact the Qualtrics products can have on even every-days business. Summary: You definitely wanna be part of that :D
What made you want to get into sales?
What I like most about being in sales is the direct contact with our amazing customers. Each of them obviously has their individual goals, which is why it is essential to actively listen to their needs and guide them towards a proper solution. As an SDR, I'm often the customer's first contact. It feels good to represent the team already at this very early stage. Talking about "team": As you can take away from our TACOS culture, we act as "One team". Knowing that everybody eventually works towards a common goal, definitely feels very fulfilling.
What 3 words would you use to describe Qualtrics to someone?
