Grow
Josh, Sales Development Representative and his journey with Qualtrics so far
My 'why' is growing my sales career. I want to be successful in my work and have the opportunity to learn from and work with the best.
I enjoy the structured career path that Qualtrics has offered me. I enjoy working in a fast-paced, rewarding, metric-driven environment where the path to progression is well illuminated and fair.
Qualtrics connects my love of experience management in a social context to a work context and allows me to fully be myself at work and break boundaries and records.
What was the turning point where you knew you 'had to have the job' at Qualtrics?
As soon as I hung up the screening call.
What does your day look like?
Wake up, go for a run. Enjoy a morning brew and laze through emails in advance of 8:30 am.
8:30-9:30 am usually consists of internal meetings and emails.
9:30-12:00 pm are Power Hours on the phone. Clients, Clients, Clients.
I take a break and usually bring my dog for a walk or practice some football/cooking.
Then it's back on the desk for scheduled customer meetings.
I finish the day with some admin and occasionally a catch-up with a colleague or an interactive work event.
What is your favorite part of your role?
Working with such a fantastic team makes me feel important and valued.
What is your top tip for someone looking for a career in Qualtrics?
Be yourself, Qualtrics hire people that fit the culture. Let your personality shine through and the rest will look after itself.
What has surprised you most about working at Qualtrics?
How well I can exceed my own expectations when I am put into an environment that brings the best out of me.
What made you want to get into sales?
I love client-facing roles, I love people and experiences. I worked in hospitality and studied it in college. When I finished college, I took a Sales & Marketing job in Dublin. I knew sales was for me. I just didn't know I would find my dream job in the tech industry.
What are your aspirations in your career/life?
To have lots of regrets but not regret any of them!
What is your top #LifeHack?
They say sales has two rules, 1. Don't tell anyone your secrets & 2... - I feel this is outdated, share everything you know, engage in meaningful conversations, and find new ways of doing things.
How have you become involved in the community at Qualtrics? What has that meant to you?
I took on the role of Diversity & Inclusion Ambassador in my SDR team. I like to make sure that everyone feels valued the same way I do.
What's a favorite moment/memory of your time at Qualtrics so far? Or an impactful moment?
My first ever job promotion.
What 3 words would you use to describe Qualtrics to someone?
TACOS, TACOS, TACOS
