Impact
Casey, Sales Recruiter: Life-changing impact at Qualtrics
I love recruiting because it follows a similar cycle of sales, but instead of providing a product for your customer you're providing an opportunity. A new job is life-changing for everyone - whether it's your first job or your fifth! A job provides so many things for people: financial stability, opportunities, a community, and so much more. I love having the opportunity to introduce someone to their new role, along with helping them through the process of applying and interviewing. The offer call is easily my favorite part of the job!
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
The company's mission, growth potential, and culture.
What was the turning point where you knew you 'had to have the job' at Qualtrics?
Something that stuck out to me was the representation in the interview process. I had come from companies that were predominately male, and the fact that in my final interviews I got to meet with 3 different women at Qualtrics that were in manager or director roles was really powerful for me as a young woman in my career.
What does your day tend to look like?
Check emails, message qualified candidates about the Q, have introductory phone calls with candidates about Qualtrics and our AE roles, send my coworkers memes, walk my dog, repeat!
What is your favorite part of your role?
Getting to break the news to candidates after all our interviews that they're getting the job!
Any advice for someone looking to get into a career like yours?
Networking is your best friend. Treat every conversation that you have about an opportunity as important - none are wasted. A piece of advice I live by is, "People might forget what you say, but they will never forget how you made them feel." That is why candidate experience is so huge for me.
What has surprised you most about working at Qualtrics?
The fact that you can bring dogs to the office in Utah! And free lunch every day - an awesome surprise/perk.
What made you want to get into recruiting?
Improving the candidate experience and getting to be part of a huge aspect of candidates' lives.
What are your career aspirations?
I would love to work my way up the ladder and one day be a Chief People Officer or a President/Vice President of Talent Acquisition.
What is your top #LifeHack?
"Eat the frog" as my manager told my team. You've got to get through the hard stuff first to get to the good!
What 3 words would you use to describe Qualtrics to someone?
Collaborative, Flexible, Impactful.
Qualtrics is growing, and if you're ready to find your "why" at a place like this, you can explore our open opportunities at any time by visiting our career page or by joining our talent community.
