David, Principal Analyst, Digital Marketing: Hard work over hacks
I work in digital marketing because of the huge variety of work and challenges, different personalities, rapid change and evolution, and wide range of skills required. Basically I love the way no day is ever the same!
How does Qualtrics connect with your 'why'?
Qualtrics is a place where I can constantly learn and grow both personally and professionally by being exposed to new challenges and great people all the time!
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
It seemed like an exciting, fast-growing company. And the people all seemed really nice!
What was the turning point where you knew you 'had to have the job' at Qualtrics?
It was during the interview process when I spoke to five different members of the team and got to feel the atmosphere in the office for myself.
What does your day look like?
Every day is different but can involve keyword research, strategy planning, content planning & publishing, technical SEO monitoring and fixes, performance analysis, reporting, link building outreach, on-page SEO, calls with agencies, internal meetings, project work, and more!
What is your favorite part of your role?
Finding opportunities to improve performance, seeing them through, and then seeing the results.
Any advice for someone in general?
Always be willing to learn and never think you know it all. Try to have a beginner’s mindset at all times.

The variety of work, types of challenges involved, and the need for a broad skill set.

What 3 words would you use to describe Qualtrics to someone?
Friendly, fast-paced, challenging.
How do you feel you've been able to apply what you studied at school to your career?
I feel I've been able to successfully combine the mixture of technical and creative skills I acquired.
What's a myth about your type of job that you'd like to bust?
Search engine optimisation can be done as a stand-alone activity.
