Grow
Quest for Success: Brooke, Sales Development Representative
My way is to grow myself in my career, grow my character, and make a positive impact on others. Whether this is in a big way or a lot of little ways, I want to get better every day and help the people around me get better every day.
Qualtrics has empowered me to grow by giving me the tools and resources to do so. At Qualtrics, I’m friends with and work with the smartest, nicest, most talented people I've ever met. They push my limits and challenge me to continue to get better every day - in my role at Qualtrics and as a person. These are people who do not force excellence or results but encourage it and set the standard. My managers here have expected nothing but high performance from me and their confidence in my abilities have pushed me to continue to get better at my role and my character. I can say I've been pleasantly surprised at how far I have come since I started here about a year ago.
I hope that I can leave an impact on others with how much I have learned and grown since starting here. It's such an incredible feeling to be motivated and supported by your peers and leaders to be the best version of yourself- in all aspects.
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
I was initially attracted to Qualtrics for all of the opportunities I had to grow and the culture. The promotion path as an SDR is clearly laid out and with each step comes more responsibility. These steps are encouraging because you are working towards a certain goal each time. It also gives me the confidence that when I am promoted to an Account Executive, I will have learned everything I need to succeed.
The culture was something that was spoken frequently and highly about at Qualtrics. During my interviews, I was not only asked questions about my capabilities to perform the job but about my character - to see if I would be a good addition to the team. It was super important to me that my values aligned with the company values and also with the values of the people who worked there.
What is your favorite part of your role?
My favorite part about my role is getting to interact and learn from so many types of people internally. As an SDR, there are so many leaders, Account Executives, and peers who are REALLY good at what they do. Getting to form relationships and learn from the people I work with has been awesome.
You relocated to Dallas, right?
I'm from Tampa, Florida and when I graduated in the Spring of 2020, I was ready to go somewhere new and exciting to gain a new experience. I moved to Dallas in the middle of the pandemic while working from home, and I wouldn't change a thing. The SDRs who lived in Dallas reached out to me and we still met up to work and get to know each other. Dallas has been an awesome city to explore and make my new home. If you are considering moving to a new city for the experience and to meet new people - go for it!
Any tips for someone who is considering a role at Qualtrics? Or advice for someone looking to get into a career like yours? Tips for someone in general?
Work hard and have fun. If you do those two things at Qualtrics, you'll do great! Form relationships with your peers and leaders: there is so much value to gain from the people who work here.
What's a myth about your type of job that you'd like to bust? Or about working at Qualtrics?
Qualtrics busts the myth that an SDR job is boring. The people at Qualtrics make everyday fun and interesting. No matter what gets thrown at you, through the highs and lows, you have someone to laugh with and someone to support you. It is never a boring day.
