Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index Rating 2022
Qualtrics Pride is excited to announce that Qualtrics has received a 95 out of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for 2022!
The HRC, a US based foundation that advocates for equal rights for LGBTQ+ individuals, provides their annual CEI report to help companies benchmark their policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. The CEI rates companies on their non-discrimination policies, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, inclusive cultures, and corporate social responsibility, highlighting companies and institutions that are considered to be the "Best Places to Work” for LGBTQ+ Equality.
A key result of the application process was the invaluable feedback they provided around how we can improve the LGBTQ+ experience at Qualtrics. Qualtrics Pride has consolidated and prioritized those gaps and are working to close them as we strive to become the destination workplace of choice for global LGBTQ+ talent.
“Receiving this certification and sharing it publicly is a step toward greater transparency and accountability. We are striving for greater inclusion and belonging for our employees and want to signal to our prospective LGBTQ+ employees that we are a safe place to work and that we stand for equality,” says Farren Roper, Qualtrics’ Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Personally, I am very excited to see Qualtrics included in the HRC’s Corporate Equality Index. When I first started in the Fall of 2017, we didn’t even have a Pride group. So, the fact that today, Qualtrics has Pride chapters in multiple countries and we have successfully applied to HRC’s CEI is another great step forward in our journey to make Qualtrics an even more welcoming place to work for current and prospective LGBTQ+ employees.
When I was first applying for jobs out of college, I always had to comb through the employee handbooks to ensure there was a clause on “nondiscrimination based on sexual orientation.” If I didn't see a company on the HRC’s CEI, it discouraged me from applying. Referencing the CEI list is the easiest way to determine which companies are safe for LGBTQ+ individuals, and having Qualtrics included will officially put us on the map as an inclusive workplace.
By sharing our score, we hope to demonstrate our allyship to our LGBTQ+ colleagues. We also have actionable key learnings we can integrate into our efforts as we aim to achieve a 100/100 in the next review. For more details on the CEI criteria and aims you can refer to HRC’s FAQ page.
