Why Qualtrics

All In on Qualtrics: Why Ciara Builds Teams for Qualtrics across Australia, Singapore, & Japan

I just passed my 1-year mark at Qualtrics (happy anniversary to me!) and what a year it has been!

My first introduction to Qualtrics was by a current employee who thought I would be a good fit for my current role. At the time, I was on a career break, had never heard of Qualtrics, and was not looking for a new opportunity. My referrer advised I do some research on Qualtrics and the role, and then let them know if it was something I would be keen on. Over a couple of days, I briefly googled "Qualtrics" and before I knew it I was immersed in Qualtrics information: articles about the software, videos about the company, and job boards about the culture. Then I had my first interview and from that point, for a number of reasons, I knew I had to have this job.

What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?

Personally, I am obsessed with experiences. I always have been. I am a "Local Guide" on Google because of all the reviews I have written based on my experiences around the world. I am a feedback enthusiast and I love to give both positive and constructive feedback when it means it will improve an experience. In the initial stages of my Qualtrics journey, I told my friends that I was interviewing for an XM company and they joked, "It's like that company/platform was made for you." Feeling so strongly about the Qualtrics vision I knew it would be a great next step in my career.

What does your day look like?

I genuinely can't say that any day has ever been the same for me at Qualtrics, but I can give you an overview. Surprisingly for some, Monday is my favourite day at work. I am a super-organised individual and Mondays are my most structured work days. On Mondays, I meet with all the managers from the teams I directly partner with (Research Services & Software Sales). I also have my weekly 1:1 with our recruiting specialist and my weekly 1:1 with my manager. All of these meetings help me set myself up for a successful week where I deliver favourable outcomes and results. I am always prepared to be “scrappy” but I really like the “all in” vibes on Mondays!

What is your favorite part of your role?

In my previous role as a recruitment manager at a recruiting agency, I worked with some amazing people. I built relationships with them and placed them into career-enhancing roles at different companies. At Qualtrics, I still get to work with amazing people, but I get to continue witnessing their career journey and experience the “Qualtrics life” together with them.

I have so many favorable elements to my role, I couldn’t choose just one! I love telling potential candidates about opportunities at Qualtrics. I love when new employees start and I get to welcome them aboard the rocket ship. I love seeing my colleagues do well because this is a reassurance that I, too, am doing a good job. I love spending time with my colleagues both in and out of the office. I have worked from a number of our offices around the world and have been a part of more team bonding activities than I can count. I believe I am truly making a difference in shaping the present and future of employee experience at Qualtrics. I hope my Qualtrics story continues in this fashion.

Back yourself! You have a voice that deserves to be heard! Also, if you need help or advice, don't be afraid to ask for it. You never know what you may learn or what someone may learn from you.

How have you become involved in community at Qualtrics?

As a driven and passionate individual, I believe in putting my hand up to get involved with most things. Perhaps not always things I am very good at, but I am always willing to give things a go.

Most recently, a new employee expressed an interest in a Qualtrics sports team. I thought, "Sure, leave it with me and I will see what we can do." I am now delighted to say we have an official Qualtrics Sydney Competitive Basketball team!

I am also on the Five for the Fight Committee which is a charity close to all our hearts. You can read more about 5FTF here.

Along with this, I am the driver behind #QualtricsLife on the ground in our APJ region. I sit on the Work-Life Balance team and I organise our quarterly team incentives for Business Operations.

If you think I can help you with any of these things or you too would like to write a #whyqualtrics story, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
