A “why” for good, Keven, Sales Development

What is your 'why'?

My “why” is put very simply — I truly believe we can all be of aid to one another. Everyone in the world has had a problem at one point in their lives, and I believe we can all be of some help or value to one another. My “why” is to help as many people as possible; all it takes is a little good to fix a lot of bad, and I want to do all I can to have a good impact.

Qualtrics surrounds me with people who share my why. Everyone here is a team and wants to help and succeed, but the best part is we all stand behind the same mission — improve the experiences of employees, customers, and businesses.

What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?

Qualtrics reached out to me on LinkedIn, and being in my senior year in college, I wanted to hear from as many companies as possible. I took a phone call with one of the recruiters named Adriella. The very first thing I noticed on this call was her exuberant energy. It was clear to me that she loved where she worked, what she did, and who she did it with. As the interview process went on, every single person I interviewed with portrayed that same amazing energy and personality and to me this was all I needed. In all of my working years, I have never before been around people who are so behind their company and love it so much. That's what sold me on Qualtrics.

What is your favorite part of your role?

As cliche as it sounds, I love every part of my job, the good and the bad. Sales is truly such a great space to learn and grow. I love interacting with customers, whether through calls, emails or in meetings. I love hearing what they’re experiencing and being able to provide them the tools to improve as a business. I love everyone I'm surrounded by, from recruiters to upper-level management; everyone respects each other and genuinely wants to see you succeed. It’s just amazing to be a part of an organization like that.

Any tips for someone who is considering a role at Qualtrics? Or advice for someone looking to get into a career like yours? Tips for someone in general?

My tip is that if you value being somewhere that will help you grow, choose Qualtrics. Qualtrics is an experience management company; so it’s no surprise to me that the employee experience here is unmatched. We are heard, appreciated, and challenged to be better as employees and people. The Qualtrics career trajectory is also very fair, your promotions are all up to you and your performance, not if you've ever missed a work day or how long you can stay after work hours. If these are things you value in your career the decision is easy.

What are some of your career/life aspirations?

Some things I would love to accomplish in my career would be to leave my mark in all of my touch points. As I scale my career, I want to leave lasting positive impressions on those I come in contact with. I recently started a clothing company and want to see it succeed. I plan on having a family; I want to be able to provide for them and never have them go without. My mother was someone who worked very hard for her 3 children. I witnessed her work 1-3 jobs consistently throughout my childhood and up to this day. My lifelong dream is to be able to buy her a house and set her up for comfortable retirement, to attempt to even come close to what she has done for me.

Keven is a soon-to-be alumnus of Pensacola Christian College and is starting his career at Qualtrics. Cool fact: he was born in Haiti but has been in South Florida since he was 8.
