More about employee lifecycle

The employee lifecycle refers to the various stages that an individual goes through during their tenure with a company. It typically includes recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and eventually separation or retirement. Each stage involves specific activities and processes aimed at attracting, hiring, training, evaluating, and retaining employees. The employee lifecycle provides a comprehensive framework for organizations to strategically manage their workforce, ensuring that employees are engaged, empowered, and supported throughout their career journey. For example, the employee onboarding process includes getting new employees up to speed, equipping them with the right tools, and ensuring they have access to the information they need to do their job. Exit interviews, on the other hand, consist of questions that help HR and people teams understand why that employee is leaving — and what they can do better next time.
There are seven stages in the employee lifecycle:
  1. Attract: The process of attracting qualified candidates to apply for job openings.
  2. Recruit: Selecting and hiring the most suitable candidates for the job.
  3. Onboard: Introducing new employees to the company, its culture, and their role.
  4. Engage: Encouraging a positive work environment and fostering employee engagement.
  5. Perform: Setting goals, providing feedback, and evaluating performance.
  6. Develop: Offering opportunities for growth and professional development.
  7. Exit: Managing employee separations, including retirements and resignations.
Employee lifecycle management software helps automate and streamline various HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle. It typically includes features such as recruitment management, onboarding, performance management, training and development, employee records management, and offboarding. This software helps organizations efficiently manage their employees' journey from recruitment to retirement, improving productivity and employee satisfaction. But that’s not all, HR professionals can also automate survey programs at specific stages, ensuring that they’re able to capture honest feedback from their people, helping to improve the overall experience.
