Qualtrics Announces New Downtown Seattle Building Named Qualtrics Tower and Will Create over 1,500 New Jobs in the Region

Last updated:  September 25, 2019

Opening Summer 2020, Qualtrics Tower will house more than 2,000 Qualtrics employees in Seattle, co-headquarters of the Experience Management leader.

Qualtrics, the leader in customer experience and creator of the experience management category, today announced Qualtrics Tower, the downtown Seattle skyscraper that will be home to the new Qualtrics co-headquarters beginning Summer 2020. In addition to its office expansion, Qualtrics plans to quadruple the number of employees it currently has in Seattle over the next several years, bringing its total employee count in the region to more than 2,000.

Qualtrics will occupy a 275,000 square foot, 13-story space in Qualtrics Tower located at the corner of Second Avenue and University Street, across from the Seattle Art Museum and Benaroya Hall. Since Qualtrics opened its Seattle office in 2015, it has evolved from an engineering hub to the company’s co-headquarters with leaders and teams spanning across customer success, design, engineering, finance, marketing, operations, and product. Qualtrics executives and employees today spend time in both co-headquarters locations. Seattle and Salt Lake City are known for their outdoor lifestyles and burgeoning tech communities, and their proximity makes for an easy commute within the growing Seattle / Salt Lake City tech corridor.

With Qualtrics as the most recent member of the SAP family, SAP will become one of the largest tech employers in Seattle with over 5,000 SAP, SAP Concur, and Qualtrics employees in the region.

“When Qualtrics came to Seattle in 2015, we established our office with a small engineering team. It has been amazing to see the growth as we have continued investing in this community and established Seattle as our co-headquarters,” said Ryan Smith, co-founder and CEO, Qualtrics. “Qualtrics Tower will be home to a world-class team that is leading the experience management category and changing how the best companies around the world create breakthrough experiences for their customers and employees.”

As part of investing in the Seattle community, 5 For The Fight, a global movement started by Qualtrics inviting everyone to give $5 for the fight against cancer, will continue to fund groundbreaking cancer research in the area. To date, 5 For The Fight has supported cancer researchers such as Dr. Cristina Rodriguez, M.D., Associate Professor, University of Washington School of Medicine and Associate Member, Clinical Research Division, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Dr. Rodriguez works to advance promising new drugs and targeted therapies related to head and neck, salivary gland, and thyroid cancers.

In addition to the announcement of Qualtrics Tower in Seattle, Qualtrics recently announced a new office building and an additional 350 jobs in Dublin, Ireland, Qualtrics’ European headquarters. The building is named Costello House after the late Dermot Costello, the first Qualtrics Europe leader, who passed away from cancer in 2017.

Qualtrics serves more than 10,000 organizations in over 100 countries. The company has more than 20 offices globally with over 2,500 employees with plans to grow to more than 8,000 employees by 2023.

Qualtrics Tower is developed by Skanska, a leading global development and construction firm.
